TDC is a sistercompany of
Sluis Cigar Machinery. The history dates back to 1897, when ancestors founded a cigarfactory in Kampen, a tobacco centre with over 100 cigarfactories in those days. Besides the cigar production, the company emphasized more and more on trade and overhaul of cigar machinery, resulting in the company SCM is today.
In 1967, the sistercompany
International Tobacco Machinery (ITM) was founded, to specialise in the cigarette industry. In 1995, SCM acquired TDC AG, then based in Switzerland, and already one of the main suppliers to the RYO-industry. TDC's specialism then was focused on the production of new tobacco weighing machinery and can filling lines. In Kampen, SCM already was active in the RYO-industry, and specialised in the packing side, with overhauled pouch packers. When TDC's activities were transferred to Kampen, all RYO activities were concentrated in TDC. The focus was from then on the entire RYO-industry.
